We’re looking for a Logistics Dispatcher to join our operations team. We’re not looking for just any Logistics Dispatcher; we’re looking for someone who’ll help grow our business to as big as it can possibly be. 

Volk Transfer is a family owned and operated trucking company. In 1997, we established Volk Logistics; a wholly owned division that offers comprehensive logistics services to augment our asset-based capabilities. From truck to rail to truck – and every routing combination in between – we make deliveries happen throughout the United States! Right now, we want to add another Logistics Dispatcher who has experience brokering loads to flatbed carriers, so if you get your kicks by helping others, are a skilled negotiator who love solving problems, and creating long-term relationships with carriers, you’ll love this job! Responsibilities you’ll own:

· Direct activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking transportation vehicles of outside carriers

· Negotiate pricing and outside carriers

· Get directions and arrange freight pickup and delivery times, if needed

· Maintain records of departure time, destination, cargo and expected delivery time

· Post loads on DAT and other internet load boards

Experience and requirements:

· One to two years of experience brokering any and all types of carriers 

· Ability to solve problems logically and critically

· Demonstrate effective time management and organizational skills

· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the internet

· Must type 40wpm

Hours, Compensation and Benefits:

· Core hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm (there may be occasions in which you’ll be asked to arrive earlier or stay later than your core hours)

· Pay will be commensurate with experience
