FULL TIME
The Carrier Sales Manager is responsible for daily coaching activities within the logistics department, revenue, and load count growth, and developing and maintaining relationships with outside transportation carriers to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and reliable delivery services. This role involves evaluating carrier performance, negotiating contracts, and implementing strategies to optimize carrier operations and improve overall logistics performance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage broker dispatchers.
- Identify and vet prospective carriers to build a pipeline of service providers
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers to ensure service quality and reliability
- Serve as the primary point of contact for carriers, addressing any issues or concerns promptly
- Monitor carrier performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery rates, cost per mile, and claim rates
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to carriers
- Negotiate contracts with carriers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the company
- Manage carrier agreements and ensure compliance with contract terms and company policies
- Analyze market trends and carrier performance data to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance carrier operations and support company goals
- Ensure carriers comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies
- Monitor and address any compliance issues or safety concerns
- Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, and customer support, to align carrier operations with overall logistics strategy
- Communicate effectively with carriers, customer support, and operations to ensure smooth operations and issue resolution
- Leverage technology to improve carrier management processes, including tracking, reporting, and communication
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies to drive innovation in carrier operations

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field, preferred
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of ways to move people, goods, or materials
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software
- Knowledge of geography and how to describe physical locations, features, and relationships
- Working knowledge of multi-line phone system and office machines, such as fax machine and copier
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 2+ years of 3PL supervisory experience
- Proven experience in negotiating contracts and managing carrier relationships
