We’re hiring an Assets & Maintenance Manager who embodies our core values and will effectively oversee our operations and maintenance, including leading and managing our team of Truck Dispatchers/Planners, and local and OTR drivers. This position is also responsible for planning and executing the activities associated with fleet maintenance and the general maintenance, repair, and appearance of the facility, including rental properties, outside grounds, and power industrial equipment. Please note we do NOT have our own shop.
Responsibilities you will own:
- Analyze routes, lanes, and customers to increase revenue and profits.
- Train newly hired dispatchers in a manner consistent with established company policies and procedures.
- Conduct ongoing training with drivers and dispatchers to ensure understanding, increase work-based knowledge, and improve performance.
- Supervise dispatchers and drivers.
- Ensure paperwork is completed in a manner consistent with established company guidelines.
- Plan and execute fleet and facilities maintenance activities to ensure compliance with all company, DOT, OSHA, and other regulations.
- Conduct fleet and facilities evaluations to ensure maintenance and safety standards are met.
- Schedule, negotiate and authorize fleet and facilities maintenance and repairs to lower overall fleet and facilities maintenance costs.
- Serve as point-of-contact for our team of drivers, office staff, vendors, and suppliers regarding. maintenance and repair issues; address breakdowns as assigned.
- Perform routine maintenance such as changing light bulbs and monitoring inventory levels.
- Create work orders for maintenance and repair; provide authorization and/or obtain approval, as needed.
- Focus on lowering costs by driving efficiency and developing consistent maintenance-related reporting and repair processes.
- Deliver and/or pick up equipment from vendors; recover abandoned equipment, if requested.
Experience and Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Valid Class A driver’s license
- Must be able to work non-traditional business hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call
